Learn about James Perkins:

James Perkins is a spiritual leader, therapist, and coach. His life's work is centered on helping individuals and organizations interrupt cycles of fear and shame so they can own their stories and step more powerfully into their unique callings. As a therapist and coach, he dedicates his time to counseling, coaching, developing transformative content, and hosting events that aid individuals in gaining clarity about their life narratives, enabling them to achieve success in life, family, and work.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and a Master's in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. James is the owner and operator of Intentional Living Counseling Group, a private counseling practice that specializes in serving individuals, couples, and families, with a particular focus on supporting black men and boys.

James is the host of "Bruhs In Therapy," a podcast dedicated to helping black men in their pursuit of emotional wellness, and he frequently speaks on topics pertaining to the intersection of faith and mental health.

James has been happily married to his wife, Kamilah Perkins, for 13 years, and together they are the proud parents of one son, Avery James.
